Tuesday night OBAMA wins

Last night I went to a bar here in Provincetown that was all set up for election night. They had a huge conference area with a big projected screen on a huge wall. They were keeping score as the electoral college votes came in. Everyone cautiously optimistic. As the numbers climbed I was glad I was in a state that was on the east coast. The first time I have watched as it actually happen rather than in California. It is a different feel altogether. We ate, we drank, they had a fresh popcorn machine and mostly women in attendance. The first victory to roll in was for Elizabeth Warren and the room screamed with happiness and then before you knew it Obama had won. I told anyone who listened that as soon as the polls closed in California the projected winner would be Obama with 55 electoral votes. 11:01 on the nose California was announced. It was magical. And then as the swing states started showing, I felt confident Obama would win. When you exclude women, you have a fight on your hands Mr. Romney. You just didn't get that and I am glad because you would have set America back to the times I fought for women's rights. I remember a time when Kathleen (my best friend who died in 1998) and I went to a rally with baby Amanda (now out of college) for women's rights and she was just barely out of the womb. But we wanted her freedoms to be protected. Now safely for another 4 years they are and hopefully forever as our country solidifies it's respect for women, gay rights and inclusion. Now to pass the ERA in all 50 states. I am so proud of our our/my country. What a night and what an adventure here in Provincetown. I am blessed to be surrounded by the bay and ocean and a wonderfully inclusive community. I will never forget my visit to this wonderful town. Or this night when Obama was reelected.

  3. what a great place to be to witness the night. I told Trevor last night as we were watching, many women will not stand for Romney, he has no clue of the negative impact he is creating against himself.

I learned a new term last night from a friend who spoke to a woman at a polling place "Stealth Wives"... apperantly, there have been women working together who are republican along with their husbands and let thier husbands assume they would vote republican this year again but walked into voting booths and voted for Obama as they were not in support of Romney.
